Top Producer Version 6i is Here

Every month we will cover a new or upgraded hardware or software. This month we introduce you to the latest version of the number one selling Real Estate sales productivity software.

Top Producer version 6i is not just an upgrade, but a leap into the Internet Economy.

E-mail integration is the best new feature. No longer do you look at e-mails in one program and your contacts in another. Emails are viewed inside of Top Producer in a feature rich E-mail Center. Received and sent e-mails are automatically linked to contact records. New contact records can be automatically created from received e-mails. If you are registered with REALTOR.COM, leads are automatically entered as new contact records.

Other features include 144 additional professionally designed flyers, 400 new letters, 18 new multi-document marketing campaigns, and “eflyers” that can be e-mailed.

Agents who have shown your listings can be automatically “E-Updated” to changes in price or terms by e-mail, fax, or both. Finally, this powerful tool also includes Internet CMA’s, Internet seller and buyer notifications, and Virtual Home Tours in flyers and brochures.

This software is set to be released at the end of August and will start at $149.00 as an upgrade. You can view more information about this program from their web site at www.topproducer.com, or you can call them at (800) 444-8570.

Clean Windows are Happy Windows

There are a few simple things that you can do to keep your computer running in top shape. Each month we will have another easy tip to help you and your PC. As always, if you have any questions about any of these instructions, please do not hesitate to call us at (713) 861-4183.

Windows 95 and 98 creates temporary files during normal operation, and it is supposed to delete those files when you shutdown your PC. But not all programs automatically delete their files, so they accumulate over time. These temporary files stored in the C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder slow down your PC and make it more susceptible to crashes.

You can safely and easily delete these temporary files. To do so, first quit all running programs. Then start the Windows Explorer by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Explore. On the left side you will see that the Start Menu folder is selected. Scroll down until you see the Temp folder. Click once on the Temp folder, and you will see all the temporary files and folders on the right side of the window. Press Ctrl-A to select All files. Now press the Del key to delete all those selected files. Click on Yes to confirm that you want to delete multiple files. If it stops to confirm that you want to delete programs or registered files, click Yes or Yes to All. If it stops and says Access is Denied, just click OK because any file that cannot be deleted is currently being used and should be left alone. Other files that have dates other than today can usually be deleted.

Any time you delete a file (even a temporary file), it isn’t really gone from your PC. Instead, it is put in the Recycle Bin. To empty the Recycle Bin, right-click on its icon on the Desktop and select Empty Recycle Bin. When it asks if you are sure, click Yes. Now these files are really gone.

Next month we’ll discuss the hows and whys of defragmenting your hard disk. Remember, a clean PC is a happy PC!
